Leadership
Once General Douglas Mac Arthur said, “Never give an order that can’t be obeyed.” What General Mac Arthur is trying to say that you can’t make an order that you can’t even follow. Leadership is the solution to that problem. Leadership has the ability to affect human behavior in complex ways. Leadership is unselfish, discipline, and is also the ability to persuade others.
Leadership is unselfish and has been shown in complex ways. If you are in war the leader fights with you to the end. Bob is in school and he’s getting bullied. Bob screams for help and the gym teacher goes and helps Bob out. The teacher was unselfish and went to help Bob out, that’s what leadership is.
Leadership is discipline; it’s been shown in sophisticated ways. Once there were two military captains, one a marine captain is strict with his troops he instructs them with discipline. He explains to them that there a team and must work together. One army captain is lazy and doesn’t discipline his troops. One day they were both sent to a mission and they need to capture a terrorist. The United States Marine Corps captain screams at his troops to get the job done. The army captain does the same but his troops didn’t get the job done they weren’t able to function as a team. The U.S.M.C captain got the job done with the discipline of his team. The mission was accomplished by discipline the number one quality of leadership.
Leadership also has the ability to persuade others in complex ways. You’re in a line and a chief needs people to go to war, he asks who wants to go. You watch you’re CO, LT, XO, SGT, CPL and your PFC raise their hand up one at a time but you fear to go but you still raise your hand up. What made you raise your hand up was leadership. Leadership persuaded you to do something you didn’t want to do. Leadership persuaded you and your team to go and fight for your country.
Unselfishness, discipline, and the persuading of others build up to leadership. Leadership is an important part of life, and like everything in life it can be hard to earn these characteristics. With out leadership everyone would be on there own and there would be no one to correct it. Leadership is in every business in the world. Leadership has affected the human behavior day after day.
